Welcome to the Wimborne Motor Cycle Club's website.
The Wimborne Motor Cycle Club (WMCC) was formed in October 1962 by a group of biking enthusiasts who worked at Flight Refuelling Limited (FRL) at Tarrant Rushton Airfield near Wimborne; they started running trials and grasstrack events. Because of the close association between FRL and the Royal Air Force at the time, WMCC's logo takes its styling cues and colours from the RAF's 'roundel' seen on all UK military aircraft — the centre is associated with Wimborne Minster and the town shield, with cross patonce and four martlets.
1969 saw the club run the first Big Grasstrack meeting in the country calling it the Wimborne Whoppa. The first prize was £100 and the meeting winners were Andy Ross (Solos) and Cecil Taylor with passenger Brian Knight (Sidecars). The event is now the longest established Big Grasstrack meeting still running.
In the late seventies and early eighties WMCC also ran several Scrambles at Iwerne Minster near Blandford.
Additionally, WMCC has run International and European events on behalf of the A.C.U. and in 2009 ran the European Sidecar Final.

Track directions
The Wimborne MCC track is located just off the A31 at Wimborne by kind permission of landowner Gareth Dean of Pilford Farm. The address and postcode for those using Satellite Navigation (GPS) systems, is that of the farm itself. The track is actually about half a mile before the farm, but as the location is clearly signposted from the A31, you shouldn’t have any problems finding us!
